Emergency Services 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week
Due to the flow of emergency services, we operate on a “triage” basis. This means that the most critical patients will take priority first over non-critical cases. We kindly ask for patience during these stressful times. Our veterinarians and staff will evaluate your pet upon arrival in-order to determine the urgency of your pet’s current medical condition. If possible, please call ahead of time to inform us of your emergency so that we are ready to assist you upon arrival.
Common emergencies that require immediate treatment include:
- Allergic reactions
- Bloat (Gastric Dilatation Volvulus [GDV])
- Burn injuries
- Cesarian section (C-Section)
- Difficulty breathing – pale or blue gums (dyspnea)
- Difficulty urinating (dysuria)
- Foreign body ingestion
- Fractured bones
- Lacerations
- Seizures
- Shock
- Snake bite
- Toxin ingestion*
- Trauma (blunt force, penetrating wounds, or hit-by-car)
*For toxin ingestion cases, whether it is a chemical, medication, or plant (e.g. Advil, chocolate, poinsettia, rat poison, snail bait etc…), we highly-recommend to call the Pet Poison Hotline (1-855-764-7661) before arriving to our hospital. Make sure to write down the case number that is given to you and provide us with that information. Please bring the container, package, or ingredient label information with you, if possible.
